    How does peak shaving reduce a bill?
    Demand charges are billed on the highest measured power in the period, not on total energy. A battery discharging during those short peaks lowers the recorded maximum, so the charge falls without changing production.
    Which loads in a plant justify a UPS?
    Control systems, PLCs, servers, scales and metering, safety and access systems, and anything whose restart requires an operator or spoils material in progress. Motors are usually left to the generator or to a soft restart.
    Is standardising equipment across sites worth it?
    Yes on estates above a handful of sites. One model means one spare kit, one service procedure, comparable data across locations, and a shorter response time when a unit fails.
