    How much battery autonomy does a data hall need?
    Where a generator is installed, 5 to 10 minutes is normally enough to cover start and transfer with margin. Without a generator, autonomy is set by how long an orderly shutdown or a workload migration takes.
    N+1 or 2N redundancy?
    N+1 covers the failure or maintenance of one module and suits most enterprise halls. 2N gives two independent paths end to end and is chosen where the service level allows no single shared component.
    How often should data center batteries be tested?
    Impedance trending quarterly to half yearly, a capacity discharge test at commissioning and then annually, and string replacement planned once measured capacity approaches 80 percent of rating.
